WORLD ART COMPETITION 2026
“Oaxacan Cosmovision of the Game”

GUETZO Group, in the exercise of its organizational powers and with the purpose of promoting
Intercultural dialogue through the visual arts, within the framework of the sporting event
international event taking place in Mexico, the United States and Canada in 2026, issues
the present:

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Addressed to Oaxacan artists, according to the following:
givens

I. OBJECTIVE
The aim of the competition is to select original and unpublished pictorial works that
Develop the theme: “Oaxacan Cosmovision of Play”
Understood as the artistic interpretation of play as a spiritual manifestation,
community, ancestral and contemporary, integrating symbolic elements of cultures
ancestral, as well as universal references for the encounter between nations, the dialogue
interculturality and fraternity among peoples.

PARTICIPANTS
Oaxacan artists over eighteen years of age at the time of registration may participate.
Participation will be strictly individual.
Each artist may register a maximum of two (2) works.
Members of the Judging Panel will not be allowed to participate.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WORKS
The works must be original, unpublished, and of your own authorship.
They should not have been awarded prizes, exhibited in similar competitions, or found
contractually committed to third parties.
Técnica: pintura en óleo, acrílico o técnica mixta.
Support: rigid frame.
Mandatory dimensions: 60 x 80 centimeters.
The works must be delivered properly mounted and ready for exhibition.
Failure to comply with any of these requirements will result in disqualification.

REGISTRATION AND RECEPTION
Registration will be digital via email: mundial2026certamen de arte@gmail.com
Participants must submit the following in a single electronic file:

High-resolution photograph of the artwork.
Technical specifications (title, technique, measurements, year of manufacture).
Author's biographical sketch (maximum 300 words).
Copy of valid official identification.
Registration deadline:
June 11, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Central Mexico Time).
The works selected as finalists must be physically submitted on the dates, at the location and
technical conditions as determined by the Organizing Committee.

V. SELECTION PROCESS
The judging panel will be made up of specialists in visual arts, art criticism, and
Cultural management. The evaluation will consider the following criteria:
Conceptual originality
Technical domain
Coherence with the theme
Symbolic and discursive force
Comprehensive aesthetic quality

The Jury's decision will be final and unappealable.
Eleven (11) finalist works will be selected.
The awards ceremony will take place on June 21, 2026 in a public event.

AWARDS AND ACQUISITION
An economic incentive of $11,000.00 (Eleven thousand pesos 00/100 M.N.) will be granted to each
one of the eleven (11) selected works.
The awarding of the incentive implies the acquisition of material ownership of the work by Grupo Guetzo, integrating it into the Guetzo Cultural Collection 2026.
The artist will at all times retain his moral rights in accordance with the law
aplicable.

COPYRIGHT AND AUTHORIZATION OF USE
Participants retain their moral rights under the Federal Law of
Derecho de Autor.
The selected artists grant non-exclusive authorization to Grupo Guetzo to:
Digital and physical reproduction for cultural, educational and dissemination purposes.
Public display.
Inclusion in printed or digital catalog.
Incorporation of the image of the work on the reverse of the Café Guetzo bags.
Dissemination in print, electronic and audiovisual media.
Any commercial use other than those indicated here must be formalized through
written agreement between the parties. 

TRANSPORT AND LIABILITY
The shipping of the selected works will be at the artist's expense, unless otherwise expressly agreed.
On the contrary.
The Organizing Committee is not responsible for damages resulting from inadequate packaging.
Participants guarantee under oath that the works do not infringe
third-party rights, exempting the Committee from any legal claim.

ACCEPTANCE
Registration and participation in the Contest implies full and unconditional acceptance of
these terms and conditions.

X. UNFORESEEN CASES
Cases not covered by this call for applications will be resolved by the Committee
Organizer, whose decision will be final and unappealable.
