Se trata de artesan\u00edas fabricadas con cart\u00f3n o papel, y estructura de alambre, o con madera (tradicionalmente de copal), que se pintan con colores mayormente alegres y vibrantes. Los alebrijes son seres imaginarios conformados por elementos fison\u00f3micos de animales diferentes, una combinaci\u00f3n de varios animales, no solo fant\u00e1sticos sino tambi\u00e9n reales que forman un ser fant\u00e1stico<\/p><p>Origen<\/p><p>El origen de los alebrijes se atribuye al artesano cartonero Pedro Linares L\u00f3pez, quien en 1936, mientras se recuperaba de una enfermedad que le provoc\u00f3 fiebres altas y alucinaciones, so\u00f1\u00f3 con un bosque habitado por estas criaturas fant\u00e1sticas que gritaban al un\u00edsono la palabra sin sentido &#8220;\u00a1alebrijes!&#8221;. Al recuperarse, comenz\u00f3 a recrear estas figuras en cart\u00f3n, d\u00e1ndoles vida y nombre.<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"mw-references reference separada\"><\/sup>\u200b<\/p><p>En la t\u00e9cnica empleada para los alebrijes de cart\u00f3n o papel se usa una estructura de\u00a0alambre\u00a0varilla de papel o de carrizo sobre la que se procede a dar capas con papel hasta formar un cart\u00f3n de donde viene el nombre; y por \u00faltimo, se realiza el\u00a0acabado\u00a0con diversas t\u00e9cnicas de\u00a0pintura.
